FAQ
General Questions
Why can't I change the 25-minute timer?
forcePomo is built on the philosophy of a "Universal Cycle" (30-minute blocks). By fixing the duration, you don't spend mental energy deciding how long to work; you simply align with the next available block.
What happens if I miss the 15-minute check-in?
The current session is considered "Skipped". You can still work, but you won't be able to "Commit" this session to your history or Google Calendar. Use it as a motivator to check-in on time for the next 30-minute block.
Can I commit a session after it's finished?
Yes! forcePomo allows a 10-minute grace period. Even if the next focus session has already started, you have 10 minutes to commit your previous session's notes and project.
Is my data safe?
Yes. Your session data is stored locally in your browser. We only use Google Calendar permissions to create events on your behalf. We do not store your calendar data on our servers.
Chrome Extension Questions
How do I open the side panel?
Click the forcePomo icon in your extension toolbar, or use the Chrome side panel menu. Once open, it stays pinned as you navigate through different websites.
Why is the audio not playing?
Chrome extensions have restrictions on audio playback. forcePomo uses an "offscreen document" to ensure tones play reliably even when you're working in a different tab. If you don't hear anything, please check your system volume and ensure the side panel is active.
Integration Questions
How do I disconnect Google Calendar?
You can sign out from the "Profile" menu in the app or revoke access via your Google Account Security Settings.
